About

I was born in Edmonton and raised in St. Albert, Alberta.  I continue to call the Edmonton area my home, alongside my incredibly supportive wife, and our two totally bonkers dogs.

In 2015, after a lengthy career in the oil and gas industry I decided to take a gamble on something new that combined my passions for woodworking and music.

I enrolled at the Summit School of Guitar Building and Repair in the fall of 2016.   Under the combined guidance of Sigmund Johannsessen, Mike Jarvis, and Sota Mori, I studied the design and construction of electric, acoustic, and archtop guitars, as well as guitar repair.

In late 2017, I returned home to set up my own shop and began building custom guitars and basses.

I believe that every song is a story, and every musician has a story to tell.  It is my sincere privilege to provide the instruments that can help tell that story.

If you’re interested in a custom build, need repairs, or just want to meet the dogs I can be reached by email at stoykoguitars@gmail.com, by phone at the shop at (780) 569-4147 or on cell at (780) 288-6797.
